A Message from NABJ Executive Director Drew Berry
NABJ National News, NewsA Message from NABJ Executive Director Drew Berry
Because of new financial strategies, a plethora of new and existing partners, sponsors, and donors, we are officially going to exceed our revenue goals and will have far fewer expenses this year.
In other words, “we will meet our budgeted revenue goals. That is impressive in the COVID-19 environment,” said NABJ Finance Director Nate Chambers.
NABJ’s Development Director JoAnne Lyons Wooten added that “No one funder made this happen. It was a collection of companies, organizations, and people who believe in what this organization is doing.”
NABJ had planned to make that announcement at the convention but decided to do it now on the heels of our impressive combined NABJ-NAHJ registration numbers, which are now at 3,713 (three thousand seven hundred thirteen).
Additionally, funders are helping NABJ launch a major initiative. More on that in the next couple of weeks.
In summary, successful new financial strategies, new funders, repeat funders (some of which are increasing their investment with us), and dramatic expense savings with our new strategies will make this a historic year. Thank you, NABJ and NAHJ supporters for what is going to be a spectacular year, as we look to expand our offerings in training and content generation.
