JJA/JIC Creative Music Media Summit
NABJ-CC, NewsTHE JAZZ JOURNALISTS ASSOCIATION in conjunction with the JAZZ INSTITUTE OF CHICAGO present a free, day-long series of meetings, consultations and panel discussions intended for both experienced writers, photographers, broadcasters, videographers and media professionals involved with “creative music” (including but not limited to jazz) and those curious about the inner workings of efforts to keep news and views of music in public spheres.
Registration is requested but not required. The Creative Music Media Summit will take place in lecture rooms at Harold Washington College, 30 E. Lake Street in the Chicago loop.
A plenary session addressing the challenges and benefits of music/arts journalism will be followed by three candid, seminar-style presentations on practical and relevant journalistic topics, conducted by Chicago’s top music freelancers, editors, publishers and program hosts. The program is currently being developed; speakers’ names and session times to follow.

Following the day-long program, attendees are invited to hear saxophonist Isaiah Collier at Jazz on the Terrace, free at the Museum of Contemporary Art, 220 E. Chicago Ave.
