UMI (Urban Ministries, Inc.) is seeking a full-time copy editor to work on an expanding content team, which produces multiple Christian education product lines. This person is responsible for line editing, copy editing, and/or proofreading adult, youth, and children’s Christian education content across multimedia platforms. This person also is responsible for copy editing UMI marketing materials as needed. This person helps ensure that content incorporates UMI distinctives, aligns with UMI and Chicago Manual style guides, and meets production standards and deadlines. UMI, headquartered in south suburban Chicago, is the largest independent, African-American owned and operated, Christian media company. We publish Christian education resources, including Bible study guides, Vacation Bible School curriculum, books, movies, and websites designed for African-American churches and individuals seeking a Christ-centered perspective on faith and life issues.
