BlackDoctor.org is a dynamic 12-year-old media publishing/brand
development organization experiencing tremendous growth and strategic
change. Building on a digital content platform that generates 60 to 100 Million
UVPM (Unique Visitors Per Month). This traffic driven by content that is
culturally relevant, delivers accurate health information and leverages state of
the art technology. We are currently driven by an advertising revenue
business model and are continually developing new streams of income.
BlackDoctor.org is seeking a highly entrepreneurial Executive Editor to join
our Leadership team focused on delivering leading edge culturally relevant
content targeted to primarily Female African American persons 18 to 55 years
old (72% of our users are female). We are looking for a go-getter who
combines the passion of an entrepreneur with the results-orientation of a
seasoned growth oriented leader. You must have a proven track record of
delivering exponential results with content programs. We are doing something
HUGE and IMPORTANT and we need someone who is inspired to join us and
help grow the mission.
This will be a Senior position on a relatively small team; it requires someone
who is excited about our MISSION of improving the health outcomes of
African Americans in the US and around the world. We are impacting the day
to day lives of people who are hungry for accurate/trustworthy information to
inform their health decisions.
Your​ ​Daily​ ​Adventures​ ​Will​ ​Include:
● Brand​ ​evangelist​. You will share the mission and get influencers, readers
and subscribers on board. Others will be inspired by your contagious

passion, and they will sign up to join the movement you paint for them. You
are the embodiment of the BlackDoctr.org brand promise.
● Growth​ ​hacker​. Analyze data, industry trends, and use human psychology
to continue to grow a hugely engaged fan base.
● Big​ ​Picture​ ​Visionary​ ​balanced​ ​with​ ​Down-and-Dirty​ ​Doer​. Need
someone who can think strategically about health conditions and topic
areas, personas, messaging, and positioning, but also manage the daily
nitty-gritty: creating and editing articles, managing freelancers, posting on
social, etc.
Our​ ​Vision​ ​of​ ​You:
● Must be a born innovator with an entrepreneurial spirit, excited by crafting a
position with some ambiguity, rather than feeling intimidated by it
● Extremely results-oriented and accustomed to setting and exceeding
traditional content targets-%increase traffic, %increase subscribers, etc.
● A seasoned growth hacker with a proven ability to be creative.
● Must be a brilliant content strategist, able to string together the big idea
story from a seemingly disparate set health conditions, needs of our clients
(Pharmaceutical Firms and Lifestyle Firms) features, and find the human
element in the features and functionality.
● Must be a superstar collaborator, juggling a lot of requests and being
proactive about setting the content direction with conviction and expertise.
● A mix of left and right brain (creative and analytical)
● Detail-oriented and organized project manager
● A dreamer and a doer who can think big picture but also roll up their
sleeves and write content or edit images with the best of ‘me
● A strong writer who can author original pieces as needed
