NABJ Chicago Chapter statement on shuttering of DNAinfo Chicago / Chicagoist

Statement of NABJ Chicago Chapter Board of Directors:

NABJ Chicago Chapter is shocked and saddened by the sudden shuttering of DNAinfo Chicago and Chicagoist.

The loss of the five-year-old #DNAInfo is further blow to our volatile industry, and will be harshly felt in a #Chicago Journalism landscape in need of greater diversity of community coverage, not less.

NABJ-Chicago Chapter extends our resources in networking, mentoring support and job listings offered by both our national organization and local, to our affected members, and extends resources and networking offered by our monthly workshops and forums to all affected journalists.

Visit the national or local websites,, or for further information, and email us through the websites should we be able to provide any specific assistance. Our thoughts remain with every one of the 115 talented and dedicated journalists impacted.

Sincerely, NABJ-Chicago Chapter Board of Directors
