With the continued rise of Black creativity and representation in film, the voice of the Black film critic has never been more vital. Join NABJ-Chicago for a conversation with four of the nation’s best: Gil Robertson, president of the African American Film Critics Association, Reginald Ponder of The Reel Critic, veteran critic Rebecca Ford and Emmanuelle Noisette of E-Man’s Reviews. The panel will discuss breaking into the industry, the landscape for black film critics, the importance of black storytelling on screen, and the current movie awards season.
