CW26 is looking for a well-informed, curious and creative Line and Segment Producer to accurately and truthfully relay hyper local stories and make them part of an engaging and insightful broadcast. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with identifying stories before they become big headlines, crafting interview segments and long-form pieces.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Research topics using the Internet, video archives, and other information sources
• Writing scripts and teases
• Producing long-form packages
• Booking in-studio or remote guests
• Anticipating the needs of the show with regard to video, graphics, scripts and other elements
• Stacking rundown content in coordination with Supervising Producer and Executive Producer
• Familiarity with iNews, Adobe Premiere and desktop editing

REQUIREMENTS

• Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for the job, if not currently employed by Weigel Broadcasting Co.
• 4 or more years experience in content creation, line producing and segment building
• A sense of humor, outgoing, articulate, well-informed, intelligent, confident and possessing common sense
• The ideal candidate is someone with the innate curiosity of a journalist, the creativity of a storyteller, and a passion for innovating
• You can demonstrate an expertise in timing in a control room environment
• Familiarity with iNews, Premiere Pro or other non-linear editing
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure
