Media Assets Editor
CW26 is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Media Assets Supervisor with phenomenal organizational skills. In this role, you will help edit video content, manage video production requests and storage of video assets. The Media Assets Supervisor will establish a clear process for submitting and requesting video edits, video recordings and file video. There are a few managerial requirements including scheduling the staff of videographers and editors, keeping track of equipment and station vehicles cleanliness. You’ll train new hires and coach your staff to create unique and compelling stories through both pictures and sound.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process requests for video assets and production requests
- Manage production gear, vehicles and equipment
- Collaborate with photographers and producers to ensure video content is named and stored correctly
- Organize, document and manage ingested video content for multiple media platforms
- Storage of video content; both short and long term
- Develop and manage internal video library
- Coordinate video assets with photographers
- Establish and maintain video archives
- Monitor and maintain video servers and playback systems
- Familiarity with iNews, Premiere Pro and desktop editing
- Works collaboratively with IT and Engineering
REQUIREMENTS
- Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for the job, if not currently employed by Weigel Broadcasting Co.
- At least 5 years experience in social media management and content creation
- A sense of humor, outgoing, articulate, well-informed, intelligent, confident and possessing common sense
- Experience as an editor in the broadcast industry
- Extreme communication skills, explaining how your processes work will be key to getting people to work well within them
- Extensive knowledge of Adobe Premiere
- Familiarity with iNews, Premiere Pro or other non-linear editing
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure
