Newsy is looking for a creative digital content producer who will select and deliver content from Newsy’s lineup of timely, contextual linear TV shows to power Newsy’s video on-demand platforms. This digital producer will also be responsible for identifying and sharing promotable content such as interviews, original segments and more to drive engagement with Newsy’s OTT, web, mobile and social audiences.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Identify interesting moments and stories from air with sound editorial judgment

• Clip and edit existing content tailored to our OTT and digital viewers

• Publish for digital distribution, to include composition of engaging headline, summary and metadata copy

• Collaborate closely with show producers to identify potential content to distribute for promotion across social and web

• May caption and upload full episodes of shows for on demand audiences

• Overnight, weekend, holiday, shift and overtime work may be required

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or related field

• 1-3 years digital news experience

• Strong and engaging writing that is AP style-compliant

• Video-editing proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro

• Strong editorial judgment and fact-checking skills

• Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule

• Must be able to multitask, meet deadlines and work under pressure

• Basic project-management skills

• Experience working in a CMS

• Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced newsroom environment strongly preferred
