Senior Communications Director at CASEL
Jobs and OpportunitiesCASEL, the Chicago-based Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning, is hiring for a new communications role to market and promote the emerging educational field of social and emotional learning (SEL).
Applicants for CASEL’s Senior Communications Director don’t necessarily have to have a background in SEL, but they must express a deep interest and understanding of this growing classroom movement.
Educators are teaching students how to handle emotions, motivate themselves, form relationships, resolve conflicts and other soft skills with the idea that by addressing kids’ mental and social needs, their academic performance will improve, too.
The communications director’s role includes an opportunity to create a strategy for publicizing new research, tools and events to educators, philanthropic groups and other audiences.
CASEL is looking for someone with strong writing, editing and deadline skills as well as 10 years experience in communications or marketing.
