Broadcast Negotiator Position Open

Position Summary

Research, evaluate, negotiate, assemble and maintain client spot broadcast schedules in assigned markets on behalf of KSM clients. Broadcast Negotiator reports to department management team (SVP, Broadcast Director, Associate Broadcast Directors, and Broadcast Supervisors).

Core Position Responsibilities

  • Negotiate with all radio, TV and cable stations in assigned markets for competitive rates
  • Research and evaluate all market information while putting together broadcast schedules
  • Manage stewardship process (i.e. confirm all activity is placed in a timely manner, station confirmation/contracts are checked, evaluate makegoods and resolve invoice discepancies)
  • Evaluate media values on proposed client promotions with stations
  • Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with media vendors
  • Supervise Broadcast Assistant by communicating and managing set deadlines while adhering to departmental policies and procedures

Desired Skills and Experience


  • Possess communication skills, team-player attitude, and overall strong work ethic
  • 3+ years local media buying experience (7-8+ years experience a plus)
  • Knowledge of media systems (i.e., MediaOcean, Donovan, etc.)
  • Proficiency with technology ( Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task, meet tight deadlines and work in fast-paced environment
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Communications, Advertising-Marketing, General Business Degree preferred)
