NABJ Chicago Membership Recruitment Contest Rules & Regulations
1. Contest Overview
The Membership Recruitment Contest is designed to encourage active members to recruit new members to the organization. The participant who recruits the highest number of eligible new members during the contest period will receive a $250 award, to thank them for being the biggest recruiter!
2. Contest Period
- The contest will run from August 3, 2026 through December 3, 2026.
- Only new members recruited within this timeframe will be counted.
3. Eligibility
- The contest is open to all current, active members of the organization.
- Participants must complete the official Contest Sign-Up Form to be eligible.
- Individuals whose annual membership lapsed at any time during the 2026 calendar year are not eligible to be recruited under this contest. They can renew and participate as recruiters.
- Members that sign up at NABJ events via recruitment from the membership committee are not eligible to be recruited under this contest.
4. How to Enter
To participate in the contest:
- Complete and submit the official Contest Sign-Up Form prior to recruiting.
- Begin recruiting new members after submission of the form and have recruits write in your name after signing up to be added to your recruited roster.
5. Recruitment Requirements
- Each new member must complete the official membership registration process
- List the recruiter’s full name on a recruited form after they’ve officially signed up.
- Only recruits who properly identify their recruiter will be credited.
- Retroactive credit (adding recruiter names after signing up for an NABJ Chicago membership) will be allowed up to a month after the initial sign up.
6. Counting Referrals
- Each eligible new member counts as one (1) recruitment credit.
- Recruitment totals will be verified by the organization’s membership committee.
- Incomplete, duplicate, or ineligible memberships will not be counted.
7. Prize
- The participant with the highest number of verified recruits by December 03, 2026 will receive a $250 award.
- In the event of a tie, the organization reserves the right to split the award or implement a tie-breaking method (e.g., earliest recruitment submission date).
8. Disqualification
Participant may be disqualified for:
- Providing false or misleading information
- Attempting to recruit ineligible individuals (including members with lapsed 2026 memberships)
- Violating organizational policies or ethical standards
9. Verification & Final Decision
- All recruitment counts are subject to final review and verification.
- The organization reserves the right to make final decisions regarding eligibility, disputes, and award distribution.
10. General Conditions
- By participating, contestants agree to abide by these rules.
- The organization reserves the right to modify or terminate the contest at any time, with notice to participants.
