The heart of NABJ-Chicago is its members. From award-winning reporters and producers to rising student journalists and media entrepreneurs, our chapter reflects the depth, talent, and innovation of Black journalism in Chicago.
Become a Member
- Full Membership – Working journalists, including reporters, editors, photographers, newsroom managers, etc., who produce, gather, disseminate and distribute news for newspapers, television and radio stations, magazines, wire services, news websites, etc., and full-time freelance journalists. Full Member status may also be granted to former full-time journalists and journalism professors who meet specific criteria.
- Associate Membership – Former working journalists, part-time free-lance journalists, journalism educators, and other media-related professionals.
- Student Membership – Full-time students at an accredited college or university. Course of study must be in the communications field, preferably journalism.
