CANCELLED DUE TO CORONAVIRUS: Goodman Theater to host NABJCC

March 14, 2020 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Please join NABJ-Chicago Chapter at the Goodman Theatre on Saturday, March 14, 2020 for a “free” viewing of the 8 P.M. performance of its new play “School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play”.

Please RSVP for 1 ticket (below) by 7 P.M. on Wednesday, March 12, 2020. (Seats are limited).

Approximate running time: 1.5 hours w/out intermission.

As the reigning queen bee at Ghana’s most exclusive boarding school sets her sights on the Miss Universe pageant, a new student unexpectedly changes the game. Don’t miss this “nasty-teen comedy, wonderfully refreshed and deepened” (The New York Times) that spotlights the universal similarities – and glaring differences – of teenage girls around the globe.

Jocelyn Bioh’s biting and buoyant comedy, “ferociously entertaining, as heartwarming as it is hilarious” (The Hollywood Reporter), arrives in Chicago on the heels of a critically acclaimed, extended run Off-Broadway.

To celebrate the hit comedy, Goodman will present a FREE AFRICAN VENDOR FAIR, on March 14, 2020, featuring jewelry, clothing, art, and culinary creations inspired by Africa and the African Diaspora, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the theater complex.
